iTunes "Heavy Rotation" list for April 2005

This month's Top Ten:
  1. "Opposite Day" Andrew Bird
  2. "The Buzz Is Over" The Mates
  3. "Joke" The Mates
  4. "Funny Little Feeling" Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers
  5. "The Rubberband Man" The Spinners
  6. "Cheating Man" Anthony David
  7. "Son of Sam" Elliott Smith
  8. "Breakdown" Jack Johnson
  9. "Breakthrough" Jazzyfatnastees
  10. "Only a Fool Would Say That" Steely Dan
This month's list is reflective of eclectic tastes. On the one hand, power pop is at the fore with the discovery of The Mates—my favorite new band from this genre since OK Go—and the catchy hook from the Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers. Everything else is decidedly mellow. The Dan's "Only a Fool..." is sadly a song whose time has come for all the wrong reasons. Listen to it. You'll get what I mean.

About this list
A smart playlist in iTunes tracks the playcounts of the songs I've added to my collection in the last 100 days. The list gives a quick peek into the music that I've recently discovered (or rediscovered).

You're encouraged to make suggestions of new stuff, or to post your own "Heavy Rotation" lists in the comments area.
