iTunes "Heavy Rotation" list for December 2004

A smart playlist in iTunes tracks the playcounts of the songs I've added to my collection in the last 100 days. The list gives a quick peek into the music that I've recently discovered (or rediscovered).

The rise of the oldies last month was short-lived, and we're back to an eclectic mix of contemporary artists, except for the loitering Adam Ant:
  1. "Primitive (The Way I Treat You)" Ambulance
  2. "What You Waiting For" Gwen Stefani
  3. "Banishment of Love" The M's
  4. "Same Old Thing" The Streets
  5. "Don't Wait Too Long" Madeleine Peyroux
  6. "Pressure Point" The Zutons
  7. "Dog Eat Dog" Adam & the Ants
  8. "Full Moon In My Soul" Robyn Hitchcock
  9. "Way of the Light" The Gift of Gab (feat VURSATYL of Lifesavas)
  10. "When the Trickster Starts A-Pokin'" Gogol Bordello
I recommend the Ambulance and Zutons tracks for alternative rock fans. The Robyn Hitchcock and Madeleine Peyroux songs will appeal to those with a taste for something mellower. The Streets and The Gift of Gab are for the hip hop fans. Gogol Bordello hangs on at #10 on my list, but is still an excellent choice for somebody who could get into ethnic avante-hard music.

You're encouraged to make suggestions of new stuff, or to post your own "Heavy Rotation" lists in the comments area.
