Preschool Oratory
This morning, our little guy delivered one of his first speeches to me. (This is a big deal; if you know us, you know why.)
Croaked to me, in the kitchen:
"Daddy, I'm hungry. I want some num-nums, okay? I want some cereal for breakfast. But I can't say please right now. Give me the cereal, and I will say please later. Shredded oats—with milk."
Oh the burden of courtesy! It's SO hard. Ah well, somebody got his shredded oats. With milk. I don't think I'll require that please of him this time. Sometimes we all just need a break, right?
